Nandays have a reputation of being very loud birds which stems back from the time of importation, when wild birds were brought into the country. A whole flock of Nandays will be very loud! It is true that, just like the Suns and Jendays, their natural call has a good volume but they are not constant screamers and make very good pets.
Nandays are very playful and love showers from a spray bottle or take baths in a shallow water dish. As with most conures, Nandays are very social and seem to get along with other pet birds. They simply love the company! Overall, Nandays are wonderful pets if you don’t mind an occasional screech that is a little on the loud side!
